1. AirCrack 2.1
Aircrack-ng is an 802.11 WEP and WPA-PSK keys cracking program that can recover keys once enough data packets have been captured.It implements the standard FMS attack along with some optimizations like KoreK attacks, as well as the all-new PTW attack, thus making the attack much faster compared to other WEPcracking tools. In fact, Aircrack-ng is a set of tools for auditing wireless networks.

2. AirSnort 0.2.6
AirSnort is a wireless LAN (WLAN) tool which recovers encryption keys. AirSnort operates by passively monitoring transmissions, computing the encryption key when enough packets have been gathered.
802.11b,using the Wired Equivalent Protocol (WEP), is crippled with numerous security flaws. Most damning of these is the weakness described in " Weaknesses in the Key Scheduling Algorithm of RC4 " by Scott Fluhrer, Itsik Mantin and Adi Shamir.
Adam Stubblefield was the first to implement this attack, but he has not made his software public. AirSnort, along with WEPCrack, which was released about the same time as AirSnort, are the first publicly available implementaions of this attack.

3. AeroPeek 2.02
AiroPeek NX captures and decodes packets, with special emphasis on the 802.11 protocol.
AiroPeek NX receives all wireless LAN packets based on user settable configuration parameters and stores these packets in memory.
For example, you can set a filter to capture all packets, only 802.11 authentication request frames, or all frames except beacons frames.
Just about any combination of packet types and protocols are possible.

When I started to search for a suitable introduction to be used for new engineers, I discovered that much of this equipment is described in standards, equipment manuals and project documentation. But little material was found to quickly give the reader an overview of the entire upstream area, while still preserving enough detail to let the engineer get an appreciation of the main characteristics and design issues.,
This book is by no means a comprehensive description on the detailed design of any part of this process, and many details have been omitted in the interest of overview. I have included some comments on the control issues, since that is part of my own background. For the same reason, the description will be somewhat biased toward the offshore installations.

This book is 900+ pages of outstanding material on what is really an art - assembly language programming. The author, a university professor, has done what so many other authors have failed to do: take a complicated subject and break it down into easy-to-digest pieces. More importantly, it's written in clear, understandable language. Although not for the faint hearted - you really have to want to learn assembly language programming - the serious student should have no problems. What's really neat (IMHO) is that the author's proven system - called High Level Assembler (HLA) - is used throughout the book. HLA, although slightly different from 'regular' assembler, is easy to learn and very, very logical. Again, if you want to learn assembly language, this is "the" book you should have in your library!!!

Read the entire review of this book. Computer Networks won’t save one minute over the next year. It has no step-by-step procedures, no problem solving sections, and no butt-saving tricks. The only purpose it can serve at a downed site is as a shield against thrown objects from frustrated users. Normally, theoretical books like this one receive a quick skim and are promptly sent to my for-looks-only tome tomb. However, this isn’t a normal theoretical book. It’s fascinating. In fact, I read it not once but three times. Tanenbaum fills over 700 pages with everything I didn’t know, or better still, only thought I knew about networks. –Don Bryson, Dr. Dobb’s Journal –This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
